Well, I'm sure we can skip the usual "breakfast at 7" update as every other day, so we'll go right to small group break out sessions. Today's verse is Romans 12:1-2. We also discussed having accountability partners. In the large group break out session, Monty shared his story of drug abuse and recovery. It was very interesting, and it showed how the rescue missions in Nashville are really helping people and bringing them to Christ. He's an aspiring musician with great talent on the piano, even though he's only played for about a year. He shared one of his own songs with us. Lunch today was the usual except for the disgusting dessert of Twinkies. Rather than eating them, we stuffed them all in a lunch bag and are keeping them in Emily and Megan's room for further use which is undecided at the moment.
VBS was definitely the highlight of the day so far. We were told that we could only stay for an hour and a half today as opposed to our usual 3 hours. Also, the women were doing crafts in our normal VBS room, so we were forced to hold the VBS in the chapel. Nearly all of the children returned, and they had a ton of energy! We also had a few mothers sitting in on our gathering. We started off with 3 great songs to get the kids going. Adam and Bryan told the story of Jesus' crucifixion in a skit. After a few more songs, Erica presented the ABC's of salvation and lead the group in a prayer to accept Christ. Three children prayed the prayer OUT LOUD and a few others told us that they too had accepted Jesus. We are praying that their decisions were sincere. Following the message, the children made their own ABC bracelets to remind them of how we are to Admit, Believe, and Confess. We ended with a fishing game and a memory verse. It was really a spectacular day. The children are becoming more attached to everyone, so it will be sad to leave them for the last time tomorrow. Our group has decided that we will leave our tie dye shirts to keep because the kids have told us many times how much they like them. (A few of the kids have shown up each day in the same clothes, so this will be especially helpful for them.) During our free time after VBS, some of the group members headed to an Army Surplus store. The rest of the gang got some much needed chill time around campus.
We have just finished dinner and are enjoying a bit of free time before tonight's session. Last night, an offering was taken at session for 3 different charity groups - Chain of Love, Danny and Friends, and Cameroon Youth Pastor Training. All together, over $3000 was collected! The night continued on a good note with some excellent worship, both with Sonicflood and a "stripped" version that included only a keyboard. Everyone was moved. Pastor George and Mrs. Michelle joined us and brought a laundry basket full of great snacks. Everyone sat on the lawn and ate until it was time to head in for the night.
The week is going great. Even though things have been really crazy and somewhat unstable at the VBS, we've learned to be flexible and trust God. We're looking forward to see what He does in the final days of our trip.
Thank you for all your prayers and comments! They are definitely helping us!
P.S. We added a few pictures to yesterday's blog, so check them out!

Hi guys!
What a great day for you all, and how cool to hear how the Lord is using you in the lives of those kids who made decisions for Christ today! It was great to hear that some of the moms stayed as well...we will continue to keep the kids and their parents in prayer that more will come to Him before the week is through.
We miss you all:)
Love,
The Minerts
P.S. So what did you do with those twinkies?????
Wow! What great things are happening there! It's so fantastic how God is using all of you to lead these children (and hopefully their moms) to making a choice to commit to Christ. And you guys look like you are having a blast doing it! We have loved all the pictures. Several people were sharing the blog stories tonight at church with folks who had not seen it. They all thought it was great! Lots of laughs! Keep up the great work and know I am praying for all of you.
Too quiet at our house,

Hope Teens,
Wow! Isn't it awesome to see God at work right in the midst of the tasks he has for you? I'm sure it was neat to see those young ones accept Jesus. And like the others have said, who knows what impact that will eventually have on their parents. We are praying for all of you. The pictures look like you are being flexible and coping well with unplanned events - keep that up and the week will fly by.
With Love,
The Coles
P.S. Hurry home Meg, Jeopardy is no fun without you!
Howdy!
It is so great to hear about the kids that gave their lives to Jesus. I pray that these are seeds that will take root and grow. Thanks for the pictures. I enjoy them. I'm glad things are going so well for all of you but I am anxious to have Erica home. Tony is here and he says to tell Erica that he misses her. Have a great night and an even greater tomorrow.
Love, Carolyn D'Olivo
P.S. I also want to know what's up with the Twinkies?
There's quite a buzz here at Hope about what-all is going on down there in Nashville. Probably by now it's beginning to feel like a long week - hang in there, and keep on representing Jesus!
Looking forward to seeing all of you back real soon.
Mr. Steve

Glad you are letting God use you and getting a lot out of the night sessions. Keep up the good work, you are almost home and in your own bed, then you will miss it!

Ben and Amber
Whoops, that link didn't work...
Why not to eat twinkies
Hello everyone,
The week's almost over and it sounds like you all had a busy time. It's exciting to hear how God used all of you to spread the good news! Enjoy the caves on Saturday and stay safe on the trip home (no more tickets, Jay).
It was so empty (and quiet) in church without all of you there. Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday.
Take care,
The Muchortows
No blog today. Hope all is well with everyone. Stay hydrated, keep cool and wear your seatbelts. Two more days. I'll pray that tomorrow is productive and that you have safe travels on Saturday. It will be nice to have Erica in church on Sunday. Have a great day tomorrow.

Emily and Leah, our freaking house flooded...
Ok, I will try this again - I left this great blog note 2 days ago but I guess you never got it - and yes I majored in computers in college. We've been praying for you all week and are glad that everything went so well. Jason, congratulations - I think it take a traffic violation to make a great youth sponsor - at least you didnt get locked in a parking lot!! Have a great 2 days of fun now that the hard work is done. By the way - the house is being cleaned up and I think I will get a new kitchen floor out of the deal - God sure has a funny way of working things out!!
Carefully coming home - cant wait to see you all.
Love
Mrs. DeLisle (mom)
