Best BYBS Eats Awarded to...

Check these out -aren't you sorry you missed...Jesse...

(Kadie's at the end of the table across from Garrett) Sydney is poking the table cloth in an artistic mannor, I think...

(Eden)
...Megan and Alyson Dunklin! They created their very own chicken caesar wraps in addition to ham and cheese wraps, pasta salad, and cheesy potatoes. The yummy desserts were a hit as well! Thanks Dunklins! (Except Laura? Jury is still out as to whether she was officially helpful -but I personally thought she was a cheerful hostess.)
No wild and wierd games this night -we kept it tame for our first timers -Kadie and Eden. Can't believe some of you missed meeting the sweet and beautiful Kadie, but she said she'd come back and next week it's at OUR house on Limestone Drive -a hop, skip and jump from Mark and Kadie's neck of the woods.

So, mark your calendars and come on out next Sunday night 6pm to the Eichhorst home for some serious 2012 Olympic planning and preparation - and Bible Study, of course. I'm a little nervous about the food -hard to compete with the great eats we've experienced all summer but Megan promised to help me out. So no worries.

Van is Washed and more...

Wahoo van washing was exhilarating! Not really but it is done and it looks great. Josie and Ethan were the hardest workers. Victoria, Diego, Courtney and Austin used a lot of soap but not so much on the van. Erica was fueled by those yummy cookies from under Laura's bed. She washed the front bumper and helped Lisa and Megan clean out the inside. Erica's sponge was instrumental in getting the bugs off of the windshield. Mr. Steve took over the hose and I vacuumed.

We read and discussed Prov. 3:27-29 and made a list of community projects to get involved in.

And we ate Syd's delicious cookies. Thanks, Sydney.

All in all it was a good night. See you all Sunday at the Dunklin's -on LaMarra in Sterling Heights.

Van Wash

Tonight -Take 2 -Van clean up/wash...Come help us clean it out and wash it up. Bring a rag or sponge and wear your grungy clothes. We tried this last week and Garrett and I decided to wait for you guys. Jr. and Sr. HI all used this thing this summer. So, let's get it all spic and span, OK?
See you all tonight!
Oh yeah, and I have yummy cookies made by Sydney, found under Laura's bed. Curious, now aren't you? Come sample them.

BYBS

... BUDDY!

Sundaes
Yes, parents, we really do have a Bible Study each week...
Body Spelling Bee
...Tim!

Mixed Turf Volley Ball

Another great BYBS was had by all at the Palnaus. Extra credit goes to the Pinery Campers who headed early for the border and made it back in time for the Bible Study.
The prelims for a new Olympic sport debuting in 2012, mixed turf volleyball was an exciting start to the night featuring Badminton Great -Tim Palnau.
After all of that bone vibrating exertion, Mrs. Jan treated us with "pigs in a blanket", chips with salsa and yummy hot cheese dip, carrots and drinks.
Then, we headed out to the back yard for a body spelling bee and a study lead by Mr. Steve on trusting God's ways and not our own smarts. The "rather be a fish that eats birds" team out spelled the "birds that have more air to fly in and can swoop down to eat fish" team by a score of 4 to 2.
The evening was topped off with ice cream sundaes and great conversation on the patio planning the Youth Service in September. If you missed it this week -never fear -next week is at the Dunklin's where other new Olympic sports are sure to debut. So, mark your calendars and bring your swim suits!

What an Adventure

The Care Rides -Very low level thrill. Most Snoozed. My car watched National Treasure there and back so that upped the Thrill to a 3 at times.

The Water Park Rides -all 3-5 Especially the Funnel of Fear and the Mine Shaft! Yikes. And the Grand Rapids and the big UP, DOWN and Drenched by the 40 ft. wave one -all 5s. Gotta love those velcro safety belts. They really do save lives.

The Sassy Swans -Thrill Level 2 0r 3 -but quickly escalated to a 5 when heading toward the fountains in the center of the pond...

Thunder Hawk -Thrill Level 5...Mad Mouse -Thrill Level -6 (a Mrs. Cindy rating...)

The Footsie Wootsie
An unrated Thrill...Amanda said it was NOT just jiggling her feet...but it felt kinda good.
So, we'll give it a 3.

The Food
We pretty much brought our own. From left over pizza to PB and J. Unrated thrill level. The sharing level was quite high, though.

The Coasters... Corkscrew -Thrill Level 5 The Shivering Timbers and Wild Cat -8?
Unlike the Nashville Adventure -this Michigan Adventure was a breeze. Didn't get lost, didn't receive a ticket, didn't scorch in 110* temps. (Though Adam may look scorched due to his first sun debut of summer 08.) The weather was absolutely perfect -thanks Syd for choosing the date, the rides were a thrill from 1-5, though we disagreed on many of the ratings.

Anyway we left with 12 and arrived back at HOPE with the same 12. Only one hurled to our knowledge and even that was for the better.

So thanks to all of the great teens and Adam who came to the meet up times and behaved respectfully. It was a great day. These are just a few of shots I took -(Mrs. Cindy) or you took with my camera.
Oh yeah, and say a prayer today for Mr. Steve who has a 2 hour commute, an 8+ hr. work day at MET LIFE and only about 5 hours of sleep.

Welcome new Jr Highers -Amanda and Trevor who came along. It was great to start getting to know you. We look forward to getting to to know the rest of you better real soon.

Very Bad-minton at the BYBS

Badminton -(Mr. Steve knew the correct spelling. He has skills. )

Anyway, it is a really tricky Olympic Sport, playing now, live if you are awake. I am posting some of the whifs to prove my point. Check out Mr. Steve's face in one of the photos...he's baffled. Also, Tim was a little rough on the birdy to say the least as you can see here. It was a great BYBS at the Pastor Jack's. They fed us barbecue sauced sausages, rolls and doritos with a yummy dip - oh and little cookies, too. They were great hosts!
