YOU DID IT!!!
Stephen and I heard nothing but good things about the service. You all did so well. You were great presenters, musicians, helpers and friends. Lisa and Emily -thank you for your leadership and taking on the majority of the speaking. We appreciated you all sitting together and supporting one another.
Let's keep working on being ONE -and doing some good this year as a group. You are a very powerful force when you work together. It's really neat to see. And the rest of the congregation felt like -"Wow something is really happening, there." And it is.
We know things take a little more patience on your part with the amount of help we have -but pray about that. God will send us just the right people who will commit to being on our team.
And thanks for being so good about it. We will keep trying to improve.
Matt Wilks said it in Nashville and Pastor George said it yesterday -you are not the church of tomorrow -you are the church of TODAY!

SYATP
We are really proud of all of you who went to your School's Flag Pole to pray. That was so cool not just in our eyes -but more importantly in God's eyes. Jesus says in Luke 12:8-9
"Stand up for me among the people you meet and the Son of Man will stand up for you before all God's angels. But if you pretend you don't know me, do you think I'll defend you before God's angels?

"I had to tell you... Noah (6th grade, middle school ) set his alarm and got to school at 7AM in the dark by himself to wait for anyone to show. Unfortunately, he waited until the bell rang at 8:25AM, and not one student showed (out of 783 students). He was excited though-- he had his own little prayer time, and got to explain SYATP during that time to 3 different teachers, who just thought it was an awesome idea! "
See, you never know what might come of Noah's faithfulness. God is up to something...

Pretty important to Jesus -that whole SYATP thing. Let's think about how we can live that out daily.
Hey everyone here's a cool little story I got from the Mrs. Carmen -"I had to tell you... Noah (6th grade, middle school ) set his alarm and got to school at 7AM in the dark by himself to wait for anyone to show. CANCELED!!!! Youth Group 9/21/08!

Super sorry everyone. Mr. Steve is about 3 hours away, still and Ethan is sick. He asked me about 45 minutes ago, "If I throw up, will you be here with me?" Aw, man. No mom would leave a guy that said that.
So...here's the important stuff you need to know!
1. SYATP is this Wed. -if you really are wishing Stephen or I am at your pole -gotta call my cell so we can plan that out. Otherwise, I'll be praying for you all and so will all the grown ups I gave your name to.
2. HABITAT for HUMANITY -this Sat. from 8:30am-3:30pm Hope is joining a group to plant mums and do light yard work in a new housing sub in Clinton Twp. It's a great cause and you just have to be 14 to sign up. Permission Slips and Info are in the youth room. You can grab it on Wed. Night.
3. Youth Service...aaahhh...next Sunday Morning. So, I talked to Adam and Thursday night is going to be a band rehearsal and Wed night during youth will be a run through. David Herein is going to work out the sound system for our many presentations. So, we should be all set. But some of you still need to write out what you plan to say. So, if you are one of those, I'll mail, or e-mail you the notes you wrote and you can plan on writing your stuff out before WED so we can try to run through it smoothly.
Again, I am really sorry about having to cancel. What are the odds? Honestly!

Teens Beat their Parents by 1!
Way to go! You guys are the winners of the Photo Scavenger Hunt! It was close, but your sleuthing was superior. Kudos to the parents, though -they worked hard. All of you had great attitudes and made the night really fun.
Not only were the photos challenging, but it's a little disconcerting to see the huge nerf gun in the background...hmmm, Stevie?

Notice the moms were doing most of the work. I found the dads in a huddle talking football scores with Mr. Steve...
A special thanks to Jason and Adam who helped us handle our guys and all of your siblings! They are always a fun and helpful pair and we couldn't pull off these meetings without them. Adam needs a nap and some therapy after dealing with all those little buggers, I think.

And we began and ended with a little big-ball volley ball. The dads were pretty into it at the beginning. I was a little too busy to get shots of that. But it was cool to see you guys and your parents having fun together.

Thanks so much to all the parents and teens who made and brought food for the evening.
It was so yummy.
Thanks to Char and Diane for the Sloppy Joes and all of their work preparing it and setting up for us to eat. Thanks to the dads for setting up the tables and taking them back down.

All in all a good night! Thanks everybody!

Most of your parents signed up to bring something, which is a big help -so thank them, OK?
We are really excited to share some of our ideas and your ideas with your folks -so be sure to bring them -

I guess you can...
Compete! Impressive girls.
Sunday night was crazy with Extreme Pool Jumping, Advanced Over Water Badminton, and Graham Castle Building in addition to the mello yellow Quidler Game and New Couch Testing Groups.
We all made our very own snack at the Ramen Noodle Bar and topped it off with yummy frosted brownies (thanks Coles!) and S'mores. (Does anybody know why the ' is after the s in s'mores?) I don't...
Anyway, come out tomorrow night to Youth Group and bring whatever you'd like to send along as a treat to the Women's Shelter in TN. We want to get that all ready to ship.
